Minky is a very soft, cozy, fluffy, and silky type of fabric. It is 100% polyester and comes in many different colors and textures (thousands of different combinations). Depending on the type of minky, the blankets can be lighter (prints, solids, hides) or heavier (bunny, seal, frost) in weight.

How do I wash my minky blanket (and does that include the bunny type)?

Yes, this includes "bunny." For the best results: wash in cold water only, light detergent, air dry or air tumble only. No heat. No fabric softener.

Why are these blankets so expensive?

The minky fabric itself is quite expensive. Along with that is the difficulty of sewing all the different types and combinations. All of our blankets are hand sewn by stay-at-home mothers, grandmothers, and college aged families in Utah and Idaho. At Starlight Minky we use only the best and highest quality of minky from Shannonfabrics, Michael Miller, and Spoonflower.

What makes you different than other companies?

Starlight Minky only uses industrial sewing machines to make our products. These machines give the greatest and finest possible stitch. We want our customers to know they are getting only the best item possible. Read more HERE in the About Us section to learn more.

Can I order a custom designed blanket or item by choosing different colors or types of minky and how long would it take?

Absolutely! Please fill out all the available information HERE and we will get that started for you. The time frame can be anywhere from 1-2 weeks if we have the fabric available. You can still order fabric that is not currently instock, we would just have to order what you have chosen (could increase time frame). We make all custom orders currently over weekends.

How does Starlight Minky ship and how long does it take to ship?

We currently only use USPS. We ship mostly on the next 1-2 business days and use priority shipping (1-3) business days to get your item.

Do you send tracking on orders?

Absolutely! Tracking is sent to your email address that is used with your purchase.
